In several projects I have seen always the same symptoms: a header file with the name of the customer, the history of modifications, and the comments above the functions with some conventions. Among them, as usual, right commenting the code. But still some programming skills are required. The C/C++ customization does not require a lot of skills in programming, just calling the proper function from the API. Siemens provides a good API documentation in HTML to browse among the different functional modules, structures, variables and functions. Among the customization is server-side code, that in Teamcenter is done in C/C++. Customizing the solution is a common practice in the projects. My experience in PLM is only with Teamcenter Unified, in different roles as Software Engineer, Solution Architect and Functional Lead and in different projects in a couple of companies.
